This interactive audiovisual media installation enables people to collaborate on music: live and direct!
Using a clear user interface with tangible objects, they create a unique musical track from a variety of samples and sound effects.
Besides the obvious fun part, the Social Soundmachine is a statement by me as an interaction designer, in a 'crusade' for more natural and clear interaction with electronic devices and information.
A statement in a world that's becoming more virtual every day, shifting physical contact to the private domain...
A world where people in public spaces mostly communicate through cellular phones...
A world where music still connects people though!
